I managed to waltz into the show early this morning and enjoy taking some photos while the light was good and the the crowds we’re still snoozin. Unfortunately I had my camera set at an ISO of 1600 the entire time and never really thought twice about why I was shooting at 1/4000 at dawn. The results weren’t toooooooooo disastrous though and in some cases I think it was a bit of a happy accident. It was a pretty good show, but it could have been a parking lot full of Sebrings for all I care, so long as that Dino 206 Competizione Prototype was there! I’ll probably create a larger album on the facebook page so become a fan and check it out!

Audi will be celebrating their 100th birthday tomorrow, and to mark the occasion they have released hundreds of awesome hi-res images from throughout the brands history. If you’re an image hoarder like myself, trust me, this is going to blow. your. mind. Auto Blog has created a nice gallery of the images so check that out here.
They’ve also done a pretty nice microsite which has tons of videos produced over the years. I haven’t had time to spend much time with it, but it looks like there’s lots of cool stuff.

Benedict Redgrove is one of my favorite photographers right now. I love his approach to automotive photography, and his sense of composition in general. Check out his site for some very inspiring images.

Ahhhhhhh now this is what the internet is all about! The Stormtrooper Lotus had me LOLing a few weeks ago when it popped up on fffound and Vaders Aerial Atom was enough to send me digging for answers. It turns both images are a bit of forum hijinx, the man behind the Storm Trooper is Mathdude from the Lotus Talk forum, and in response Linhbergh Nguyen staged the Vader shot for the Diesel Station forum.
Incidentally Linhbergh is a great photographer, check out his blog http://kinod.net/linhbergh/ for lots of great automotive photography.
P.S. I realize at this point the content of this blog is equally Star Wars/Automotive, I’ll try to show some geek restraint in the coming weeks.
